DIVORCE
Divorce is considered the most disliked permissible act in the eyes of God. The
Qur’an instructs spouses to either live in peace together or separate peacefully.
Sometimes marital difficulties arise, and speaking with a neutral third party can be
extremely helpful.
Resalat provides support and counseling for couples facing difficulties.
We only issue Islamic divorces. Couples must first apply for a civil divorce through
the district court.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR DIVORCE:
1. Divorce certificate from the district court.
2. Two passport-sized photos of each individual.
3. Photo ID for both individuals (passport or other government-issued ID).
4. A €200 fee to be paid to the Resalat Islamic Community’s account (can also
be paid by card during the event).
5. Presence of both spouses.
6. Two reliable witnesses.
7. Original Islamic marriage certificate showing the agreed mahr. This is only
required in case of disputes regarding the mahr amount.
